| LaFever Excavating, Inc. was founded by Howard and Laura LaFever with one bulldozer and a dump truck. Their quality of work and perseverance helped the business grow, and by 1965 the excavating business was incorporated. Their son, John, joined the firm in 1969 and became Vice-President and General manager in 1975. John and his wife, Susan, purchased the business in 1983. A tragic accident in 1995 took John's life. The business is now owned by his wife, Susan, and managed by their son, Jonathan. |
Our business offices and main shop are located one mile east of Bovina Center, New York, on Delaware County Route 6. We work within a 50-mile radius of this location. (Click on the map to see a more detailed view of the area we serve.)

Our Capabilities
LaFever Excavating has over 30 pieces of heavy equipment to handle large and small excavating jobs. This versatility is seen in our 7 bulldozers ranging from 6 to 38 tons! Having such versatility helps meet the challenges of this area's rocky soil.
The 5 backhoes range from 5 to 28 tons. They are rubber-tired and track mounted. The four-wheel drive backhoe will meet the challenge of the toughest jobs, and the hydraulic excavator with a 32-foot reach can dig any of your larger excavating projects.
LaFever Excavating has a fleet of dump trucks painted the distinctive "LaFever yellow." These trucks can be seen hauling material from seven gravel banks within our area. This means LaFever Excavating can offer our customers economical gravel sources for all their needs. LaFever Excavating is also permitted to haul contaminated waste material.
LaFever Excavating has special road building equipment that includes our dozers, motor grader, vibratory roller, and York rake. And the machinery is operated by a crew of over a dozen skilled technicians who are highly trained in the operation of each piece of machinery.
